Your teacher Catherine (Not Cathy, Catie, or Katherine) is going to give you a choice for a book.
Some choices from last years were:
-A wrinkle in time
-Speak
-Silent to the bone
-Night
-Animal Farm
-Red Scarf girl
-Star Girl
-and few others
Not all of them will be available and few others will also be added.
These short descriptions are known from other readers or from myself
Red Scarf Girl-Auto-biography about a life in a Communist country in China
Silent to the bone-A story about a boy who wouldn't speak because of an incident
Night-Another auto-biography of a time of the Holocaust (challenging book)
Animal Farm-A story that is reflected from a time of Hitler's control (challenging book)
Speak-A story about a girl in sophomore would not confess about an incident during the summer.
Speak was not the book I've read for the choice, but I read it afterwards. It was a very vivid and strong book. But Animal Farm and Night were some of the hits for the choice.

I read Animal Farm in 7th grade and it was not just reflective of Hitler. It was about a group of overworked animals who took over the farm by chasing off the farmers.
